Elliot all set for Sunshine job with Massey Ferguson down under

“Being part of Massey Ferguson gives you big opportunities to do what you want to do and go where you want to go,” says Elliot Cook. After a year working with MF equipment as a Technical Training Instructor in the UK, he is off to Australia to join the Massey Ferguson Technical Support team there.

From a family poultry farm in Somerset, 25-year-old Elliot qualified with a B.Eng in Agricultural Engineering at Harper Adams University in Shropshire. He joined the Massey Ferguson team at Abbey Park Stoneleigh in Warwickshire just a year ago where he has been training distributor and dealer staff on MF tractors and telehandlers.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Abbey Park,” he says. “It was a steep learning curve but a great way increase my product knowledge and get to understand the dealer network. Although I’ve been based in the UK, I’ve travelled to Europe to visit the company’s manufacturing plants in France, Italy and Finland.”

Now it’s time for Elliot to fly further afield and satisfy his ambition to work in Australia. “I spent time in New Zealand working for an agricultural contractor but never got to Australia. It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go,” he explains. “Massey Ferguson has a major presence in Australia  so I sent my CV to colleagues there and was delighted to be offered the job. I’ll be based in Sunshine near Melbourne and assisting MF dealers with machinery technical issues over the phone and on-line when they are out in the field and in the workshop.”

As well as Australia, Elliot’s territory will cover New Zealand and the Pacific islands. “I’m very excited about this new opportunity and can’t wait to get out there and get involved,” he says.
