Two New Models Boost Capacity in MF ACTIVA Combine Range for Selected Markets - MF Activa - 7245 S and 7245S AL

Massey Ferguson is adding two new models to its Activa combine range for selected markets. The Activa ‘S’ models include one with automatic levelling, while both harvesters include new features to boost harvesting capacity in a wide range of crops and conditions.

The new combines Activa 7245S and Activa 7245S AL and are powered by 245hp engines, four-speed transmissions and five straw walkers. Both are equipped with AutoLevel Freeflow headers that follow changes in up to 8% in ground contours. To further improve harvesting efficiency in demanding conditions on hills and slopes, the Activa 7254S AL combine automatically levels the machine across slopes of up to 20%.

Features include

• Freeflow cutting table with autolevel of up to 8% across slopes
• Hydrostatic four-speed transmission – for maximum harvesting flexibility
• Latest generation electronically-controlled 245hp engines
• High inertia cylinder
• Powerfeed roller for constant crop flow
• Rotary separator to improve threshing efficiency
• Closed bottom-design straw walkers - effectively move the straw out of the machine

“These combines are ideally suited to farms looking to secure their harvest by owning their own cost-effective and highly efficient machines. The wet weather in many parts of Northern Europe this season is making many farms think hard about combine ownership,” says Adam Sherriff, General Product Marketing Manager, Harvesting.

Both new MF 7245S and MF 7245S AL Activas now benefit from new features to improve output and further increase capacity in a wider range of crops and conditions.

A new Powerfeed Roller provides a constant crop flow between the table and the main crop elevator. This smoother, full width feed results in a more even crop flow into the threshing system with the result that less power is required and threshing is improved overall.

In addition, the machines are also fitted a rotary separator with an adjustable concave, the speed of which cab reduced simply by changing a belt and pulley. A unique feature is the ability to rotate the rotary separator concave up over the top of the rotary separator when it is not required.

The rotary separator’s drum, void of the concave, now becomes an additional rear beater. With this facility, the operator has even greater flexibility to optimise combine performance in dry conditions.

In common with other Activa combines, these new machines provide reliability and durability while maintaining consistent performance in the field. They are constructed on an extremely strong rigid chassis, making them ideal for harvesting cereals, maize and rice – a crop that is very demanding and abrasive. Many of the parts that come in contact with the crop are of increased thickness or constructed of harder wearing material. Furthermore, over 80% of the machine is galvanized and painted before assembly for increased longevity.
