To be featured on the Massey Ferguson stand (H15) at this year’s IOG Scotsturf exhibition will be an MF1547 compact tractor equipped with Dyna-QPS transmission and a model from MF’s new 3600 series which comprises four tractors spanning the 58hp to 91hp power band. There will also be a 22.5hp GC2300 sub-compact tractor with mid-cutter deck, ideal for local authorities, contractors and estate owners needing a versatile tractor able to maintain a wide range of grass areas.
Rated at 46hp, the MF1547 is offered with the choice of three transmission systems: a 12 x 12 manual gearbox; a three-range hydrostatic transmission; or the new Dyna-QPS transmission incorporating Power Shift and Power Shuttle functions within a 12 forward/12 reverse mechanical gearbox with creep speeds.
Push-button activated, the Power Shift function allows the driver to change up or down between the four speeds in each of the gearbox’s three ranges without affecting power delivery or momentum. Similarly electro-hydraulically controlled, Power Shuttle enables the driver to change from forward to reverse, and vice versa, by simply flicking a lever to the left of the steering column.
Launched this year, the 3600 Series comprises the MF3615, MF3625, MF3635 and MF3645 tractors rated at 58hp, 68hp, 78hp and 91hp respectively. Combining low weight with compact dimensions and exceptional manoeuvrability, MF’s 3600 Series tractors are ideal for a wide range of demanding grounds and turf maintenance operations.
Customers can specify all four models in two-wheel drive equipped with a 12/12 synchro-shuttle gearbox or in four-wheel drive with a 24/24 speed synchro-shuttle transmission. There is also the choice of a flat floor ‘Q’ cab or an open platform with foldable roll-over protection structure (ROPS).
The MF GC2300 sub-compact tractor can be specified with a choice of mulching, rear-discharge or side-discharge mid-mounted cutter decks, the latter with optional collection system. Key points of the GC2300 are its selectable four-wheel drive, two-range hydrostatic transmission, hydrostatic power steering, independent mid and rear PTOs, wet disc brakes and Cat 1 three-point linkage with a 500kg lift capacity.
